Hospital Workgroup (HoW)

Quality Improvement team members as well as others involved with hospital quality improvement activities are welcome to participate with the HoW. Participants are asked to: offer perspectives and ideas, actively participate in meetings, discussions, and decisions, volunteer for action items shares resources, knowledge, skills and expertise, and communicates HoW activities within their home organization.

HoW Meeting Minutes/Materials

Mission
To positively impact the quality of health care that Arizona's Medicare beneficiaries and other patient populations receive, by working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary group of clinical and quality improvement team members to create and implement improvement methods and strategies in the acute care setting.

Charter
The Hospital Workgroup will:

  • promote a partnership between [Hospital Name], Health Services Advisory Group, and other health care organizations within Arizona that will translate into higher outcome scores for 7SoW activities.

  • communicate successes, barriers, and lessons learned within Arizona's acute care settings in order to reduce redundancy of effort.

  • support educational quality efforts--especially those pertaining to methodology, data interpretation, guidelines, and criteria--that translate into information that can be used by providers and recipients of health care.

  • communicate information relating to clinical topics, care processes, and quality improvement projects within the participants' organizations and systems as well as among participating HoW members.

  • coordinate simultaneous quality improvement projects between multiple providers, M+COs, practitioners, and other health care providers.

  • promote compliance with 7SoW clinical indicators for hospitalized cardiovascular and pneumonia patients.

  • identify real, operational means for reducing surgical infections.

  • collaborate in the development and implementation of materials, tools, and interventions to improve the quality of health care.
